One of the regime’s objectives in the face of the revolution that began six months ago was to silence street protests. So far, the regime has achieved temporary success in most parts of Iran.<\/p>\n

However, Kurdistan in the west and Baluchistan in the southeast of Iran have continued their protests despite widespread killings and repression. Yesterday’s gatherings in the cities of Kurdistan, honoring Qazi Mohammad, the historic leader of Iranian Kurdistan’s struggles, illustrate this reality.<\/p>\n

Today, people in Baluchistan and Zahedan took to the streets for the 26th consecutive week to raise their voices against the systematic injustice towards the Baluch people, even though they were called to silence by a religious leader today.<\/p>\n
