These days no one can hide the truth. It will come out one way or another.
Call him ambassador or scholar, give him impressive titles, give him refuge in a university, and give him grant money (our taxes) to write books and do research, whatever scenario they concoct to hide the truth, it is all smoke.
No story, institution, books, or titles can erase evil karma and evil conduct; good luck with that cause nothing man made can help him there ;-)
